BRATISLAVA – The 24th edition of the tennis Challenger tournament Bratislava Open (ATP Challenger Tour, clay, 160, 680 € + H) will feature well-known names from world tennis, including Slovak number one Alex Molčan and Australian Grand Slam champion Thanasi Kokkinakis, who, together with his compatriot Nick Kyrgios, won the men’s doubles at the 2022 Australian Open.
The tournament, which will take place from 7 to 14 June at the TK Slovan Bratislava complex, will offer a record prize fund of more than €160,000.
Molčan, thanks to strong performances on clay courts, is among the main favourites of the event and, in case of overall victory, could move closer to returning to the ATP top 100 rankings. Fans can also look forward to the winner of the 2022 Bratislava Open, Alexander Shevchenko, Austrian representative Sebastian Ofner, and American player Emilio Nava.
The main draw and qualifying rounds will also feature strong Slovak representation, including Norbert Gombos, Miloš Karol, Lukáš Pokorný and as a new addition - Max Lörinčík.
Organisers also announced record prize money – the winner will receive €23,750 and 100 ATP ranking points. Qualifying begins on 7 June, with the main draw starting a day later. Entry for spectators is traditionally free.
