Andrej Martin Feels at home at the Bratislava Open
The Slovak tennis player has been very positive about his progress in the tournament so far. Last year, he received a wildcard into the main draw, but this time he earned his place by successfully coming through the qualifying rounds. According to him, that played an important role in his performance.
"The qualifying matches helped me get into rhythm and find my game. It suits me today because I feel confident on the courts and ready for the upcoming matches," he said after advancing.
He also praised the atmosphere at the Slovan courts in Bratislava, where he played one of his qualifying matches on his lucky Court No. 8. According to him, that court gives him a sense of comfort and confidence.
When asked to assess his progress, he responded very positively. However, he admitted that he is beginning to feel tired after a demanding schedule.
"I’m very happy with my progress. Of course, I’m a little tired, but I hope to get some rest and be ready to deliver my best performance tomorrow. The support of the spectators means a lot to me, and I hope they will come and cheer me on again in the next match," he said.
He considers the pleasant environment and the home courts to be one of his advantages. He believes these factors will help him build on his performances so far.
"The conditions here are ideal for me, so I’m hoping for success and, above all, a good performance. I want to enjoy the match and give everything I have on the court," the Slovak player added.
