Ukrainian tennis player Vitaliy Sachko (25) is the winner of the 20th anniversary clay tournament Bratislava Open 2023. In Sunday's singles final, he defeated Bulgarian Dimitrov Kuzmanov (29) in three sets 2:6, 6:2, 7:6(2).

Sachko played in Bratislava in his third Challenger singles final. In March 2021, he lost in the final in Lugano, Switzerland, and in July 2021, he did not win the title in Perugia, Italy. At the Bratislava Open 2023, he finally succeeded. "It worked. I also gained experience then, I used it and now I put everything into it. Whatever the situation is in the match, I will play my way," said the winner after the final, who was grateful for the support of the home crowd, which was more on his side.

"The spectators helped me a lot throughout the match. They supported me even in the most difficult moments. They made fun of me and I thank them for that," added Sachko, who will travel to Poznań in Poland after a day of rest. There he plays in another challenger event.

The Ukrainian tennis player will score 100 points in the ATP rankings for his triumph and he earned 16,020 euros. After this weekend, he will move to his career-high 186th place in the ATP rankings.
